Artists of India commonly portray their deities engaged in sexual acts,
illustrating the view that sex is natural and sacred.
The last two items in this gallery not only embrace sexuality,
but also attribute extraordinary abilities to the divine lover, Krishna.
Called 'kama-chakra' - wheel of desire - this feat is meant to convey the ability to maintain
spiritual awareness in the midst of never-ending worldly desire.
It has evolved into a ritual in some sacred sex practices, as will be seen in a later gallery.
